postheadericon Murphy says Manchester United should sign Toby Alderweireld

Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy has urged Manchester United to take the opportunity to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the campaign. The Belgian’s current deal with Spurs expires in the summer of 2020 and this has intensified speculation regarding his future ahead of the summer transfer window.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Murphy indicated that United’s main weakness has been in the backline and they need to act first to strengthen the department. He added that Spurs’ Alderweireld should be the prime target on their radar, considering he has a £25m release clause which can be triggered during the final two weeks of the summer transfer window, he said: “Let’s start at the back. If Toby Alderweireld has a £25million buy-out clause from Tottenham as reported, go and get him.”

He added that the defender is at the prime of his career and he should be able to offer the leadership qualities which have been witnessed with Virgil van Dijk and Vincent Kompany at Liverpool and Manchester City respectively, he told: “He’ll bring experience and know-how, a 30-year-old at the peak of his powers who can provide leadership for United as Virgil van Dijk has done at Liverpool or Vincent Kompany has given for years at City.”

Alderweireld has remained quiet regarding his future with the north London giants this season but multiple reports have suggested that the central defender could part ways with the club at the end of the campaign. The main reason has been highlighted as the wages with Spurs reluctant to meet the player’s £200,000-a-week wage demands, which would put him on par with Harry Kane, who is currently the club’s highest earner.

Tottenham are currently third in the Premier League with 70 points, but their top-four hopes continue to hang in the balance. They need to secure at least one win from the remaining two matches to assure themselves of Champions League football next season. Meanwhile, they can also qualify for the same, should they go on to win the elite competition this term.

postheadericon Maurizio Sarri declares his ambition to stay with Chelsea next season

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has indicated that he has no ambition of parting ways with the club during the summer despite the speculation regarding his future. The Italian has experienced plenty of highs and lows during his first season in the Premier League and reports have recently indicated that he could be tempted by the return to the Serie A with Roma interested.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Sarri has stressed that he is committed to the Blues’ cause and he would prefer to stay put with the west London side next term. He added that he can get the club to challenge for the title, although the same would take some time, considering the dominance of Manchester City and Liverpool this term.

He told:”The Premier League is wonderful and I want to remain in the Premier League. I want to remain at Chelsea, because the level is very, very high. The atmosphere in the stadiums is really fantastic. And so it’s a wonderful championship. I’d like to remain here. I am sure that, in two seasons, we will be able to close to them [Liverpool and Manchester City]. But I am not sure that, in two seasons, we will be able to be better than them.”

The Blues are currently in command of the destiny of making the top four, but they are just one and three points ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United respectively. Moreover, they are scheduled to face the latter on the road on Sunday and anything less than a victory could potentially drop them outside of the Champions League places.

Elsewhere, the Capital outfit have the chance to compete for silverware and Champions League qualification by winning the Europa League. The Blues are set to face Eintracht Frankfurt during the double-legged semi-final and a triumph could see them tackle one of Arsenal or Valencia in the final in Baku.

postheadericon SPANISH TRIO STRUGGLING IN JAPAN

The J League has made the headlines in the past three years with the likes of Lukas Podolski, Andreas Iniesta, David Villa and Fernando Torres signing as marquee signings. With a wealth of experience among the players, you would be expecting plain sailing.

However, it has not been smooth progress as all four players have flattered to deceive since making the big money moves.  The trio of David Villa, Iniesta and Podolski play for Vissel Kobe which is owned by Japanese tech giants Rakuten.

Rakuten doubles as the major sponsor of Barcelona and have spent a fortune to ensure that Vissel Kobe can compete for their first ever league title. However, results have not been forthcoming as the club has lost seven matches in a row and languishes in the midtable this season.

This is a big disappointment for the team that has the largest wage bill in the entire league with Iniesta reportedly on a yearly salary of $10,million.

There have also been suggestions of internal wranglings in the club with the issue of the captain armband. Former coach Juan Manuel Lillo was sacked by the club due to poor results with Iniesta taking over the captain armband from Podolski.

The German World Cup winner went on social media to air his grievances claiming that he had been lied to and betrayed by some elements within the club. Meanwhile Fernando Torres has not fared better at Sagan Tosu.

The Spanish forward is yet to score this season for Sagan Tosu who lie bottom on the table. The club narrowly escaped relegation last season and it had been hoped that Torres would be able to change things this season. David Villa recently joined Vissel Kobe but has found a bit difficult to adapt. However, we expect the striker to start banging in goals which would help the club fight for titles.

postheadericon Burnley manager hits back at Chelsea defender David Luiz

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has defended his team after David Luiz branded them of playing anti-football during the recent 2-2 draw versus Chelsea. The Clarets resorted to a defensive mindset after the scores were 2-2 following the first period, and this ultimately frustrated the Blues, who had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Speaking after that game, Luiz was critical about the Clarets’ mindset during the second half of the match and when asked on the same, Dyche offered a different opinion saying: “Well, with a £58m wage bill, and making the most of players and trying to find a way to get 40 points in the Premier League, coming to venues like this, I’m pretty pleased to be fair, and delighted with the players. They’ve been first class, 28 points in 16 games, you can’t anti-football that. I’m telling you now, it’s impossible, you have to play some football to get 28 points in 16 games.”

Burnley were in dire straits during the opening half of the season where they managed just 12 points and were under the potential threat of relegation. However, they have turned things around during the backend of the campaign with 28 points from 16 matches and during this period, they have provided a better resolve at the back.

The Clarets are scheduled to face Manchester City in their home patch during the forthcoming league clash and the game could have an effect on the Premier League title race. The Citizens know that they require a minimum of a win to return to the top of the table but the Clarets could yet play hamper their prospects of doing so.

Burnley have been beaten 5-0 by Manchester City in each of the past two meetings at the Etihad Stadium, but the previous encounter at Turf Moor witnessed a 1-1 draw. A similar result on Sunday would provide Liverpool with a genuine chance to secure a maiden Premier League crown. The Reds are currently two points ahead of the Citizens after playing an extra game more.

postheadericon Best Options to Use the Softball as Per Your Requirement

Softball is a sport practiced mostly by women. This is a more simplified version of baseball. However, softball soon became popular, and since not everyone had access to blocks, they began to practice it outdoors, initially in the parks. It was not long before the first softball tournaments were organized off the court. The use of the Illinois Fastpitch Softball happens to be perfect here.

US athletes have won the last six World Championships in the sport, which takes place every 4 years. It is a sport similar to baseball, having specific rules. The difference is in how to throw the ball through the pitcher. In baseball the ball is thrown with the movement of the arm from top to bottom, already in softball from bottom to top. Other differences are in the ball, which has a larger diameter and smaller specific weight, in the dimensions of the playing field which are smaller and their duration.

It can be played in three ways:

Slow release: The pitch must be slow in such a way that it forms a minimum bow of 1.5 m. It has specific official rules. He is also known as “Pinha” in Spanish-speaking American countries.

Understanding the game

As in baseball, the game develops alternating attack and defense. Each attack / defense set is called an “inning”. This alternation is made when the defense team manages to eliminate 3 attackers, thereby gaining the right to enter to rebound.

The team that is defending aims to eliminate 3 attackers, trying in any way to make difficult the marking of careers (points) and to acquire the right of his turn of attack.

The duration of the game is determined by the amount of innings pre-established

There are two categories of balls: rubber and leather. In Japan three different sizes of rubber balls are produced, numbered 1 to 3. The number 3 corresponds to the official sizes adopted in international competitions. In official international competitions only leather balls are adopted.

Softball is a sport that by official rule cannot end tied, should always consecrate a winner

For the tiebreaker there are 3 ways: extension, penalty or extension + penalty. By the official ISF rule, in case of a tie within the statutory period, the game is extended until a winner is awarded to the 10th inning, if it persists, the penalty applies.

The penalty applies as follows: the last hitter on the turn wins the 2nd base, “no out” (no elimination) and thus continues the match until a winner is awarded.

Coming into play

To start a match, the attack / defense round of the participating teams is drawn. Usually the preference is to start defending because it will end up attacking, thus making it possible to “turn around” the game and consecrate the winner.
